Event Review - Shape the Essex eBusiness Club 2006
Posted: 15-Jul-05

Forty eBusiness Clubbers met at the iLab yesterday for a very successful and enjoyable ‘think-tank’ about the club and to hear about the collaborative project behind the new Essex eBusiness Club website.

Attendees reported that they had thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding the iLab a very interesting place to think and welcoming the opportunity to input their views on club issues.

We have noted some evaluation comments wishing there had been more opportunity to discuss in a group format and we welcome your thoughts on how we can address this? Remember you can give instant feedback on our forum.

We’ve been greatly pleased and interested by the response to our invitation. Several club members have taken time to email their thoughts to us in advance, which is extremely useful and will help us when we evaluate the results from the iLab. Watch this site for pictures from the event – from the walls, not of the attendees!

Below is a copy of the invitation to which these members responded:

Problem:
Whilst this support is available for this year (until March 2006) we are not assured of future funding and being very aware of the unresolved future of Business Support in the region, we feel it is prudent to consider how we could run the club independently.

Action:
As we are a ‘club’ we are asking our active members to participate in a ‘think-tank’ to help us to Shape the Essex eBusiness Club for 2006 and beyond.

We invite you to bring your energy and ideas to the Essex University i-Lab on Thursday 14th July where their facilitators will invite your input to a number of questions about the eBusiness Club.

There will be two sessions running concurrently, one which looks at where the eBusiness Club is now, with exciting developments to our web site and admin systems, and the other working with the facilitators, using their computerised anonymous survey software, drawing ideas on the walls (it is a very whacky place!) etc.

Outcome:
The outcomes from the morning will be reported back to us and we will publish the findings to the club, and plan to use the ideas in our plans for 2006 and (hopefully) beyond!
