Event Review - Developing and maintaining an effective website
Posted: 22-Nov-05

This was eBusiness Club at its best (so far)!

Scott Whitehead from Zest City gave a very thought provoking presentation titled Developing and Maintaining an Effective Website. He had segmented the website market and encouraged us to consider in which segment best suited the product or service we offer.

This reminds us that websites are an integral product of our business and must be designed as a major marketing tool. That means not only the front end doing the job it is designed for, be that sales or information, but using the site data capture, sales and lead analysis, clicks analysis to see what pages visitors have looked at and many other automated processes to assist the business management. Scott's presentation will be linked to this site very soon. Nothing like being there though!

This presentation was followed by a Website Workshop where ten 'Experts' on various aspects of websites set up mini consultancy workshops to look at and discuss individual websites. Please visit their sites and contact them for advice. Anyone unsure as to who would be best to contact for which service please Contact me through this website.

The Experts were:

Barney Hall - www.momo.co.uk
Mat Batchelor - www.itnetworksuk.com
Ron Scates - www.seetec.co.uk
Peter Banks - www.datapartners.co.uk

Robyn Craig - www.adavista.com
Scott Whitehead - www.zestcity.com
Susan Pattrick - www.smpconsultancy.co.uk
Tony Bevis    - www.abilityfirst.co.uk

Thanks to all of the Experts who were busy for over an hour helping individual businesses. Thanks to Mat Batchelor who set up all the laptops to access the internet wirelessly and to Cliffs Pavilion for responding to our request and obtaining a broadband line that we could use.

The feedback from this event was superb. Businesses were able to take advice from experts and many commented that this was a very valuable session.

The morning ended with lunch which gave everyone plenty of time to carry on their discussions and to network. We look forward to running more of these type of events next year.
