| Event Review - Websites as part of the Marketing Mix |
Posted: 20-Oct-05
It was a lovely day to be beside the shimmering sea, and to have the opportunity to look at it from Cliffs Pavilion was a treat. Not that many had time to look as the speakers, Peter Wilson on Websites as Part of the Marketing Mix and David Donnan on Homeworking sparked ideas in everyone’s heads.
The Q&A forum was a varied mix of discussions ranging from search engine optimisation to the merits of various types of website programming software – and whether, as customers this is something we need to be greatly involved in. Our primary interest as customers is that the website does the job we briefed it to do and that it is compatible with hosting sites etc. Many of the Q&A subjects later became interesting discussions over lunch.
A delicious hot lunch was a good opportunity for most of us to catch up with some and meet others. This event had the relaxed informality that the eBusiness club nurtures and values. We find this is the best forum for people to learn, discuss and ask questions and we aim that the whole experience is enjoyable as well as fulfilling objectives.
Our thanks to Peter Wilson of Vivado and David Donnan of Igentics, who gave time in preparing their presentation and sharing their expertise with us. Links to both of their sites are on the Members Directory on the Links page.
David has supplied a useful link for more information on homeworking http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?r.l3=1074446319&r.l2=1073858926&r.t=CASE%20STUDIES&r.i=1075393713&r.l1=1073858787&r.s=m&topicId=1074446319 |
