Despite the lack of car parking and distraction of the digger outside the window this morning's event was a huge success for most delegates. Peter Wilson from Vivado gave an interesting talk about Marketing, and particularly where the website sits within the marketing mix. He emphasized the importance of sticking to the Marketing Plan when determining the type of site, the image created by the site, and in follow through so that the customer experience reflects the image created. All very good advice!
David Donnan from Igentics talked about Dynamic Websites, the importance of a site that can be 'content managed', both for business to customer sites for the warm welcome feeling "Hello David" and other personalisations, and business to business, for example in a supply chain. David also talked about adding dynamic content, news feeds, weather checks, search engines etc.
Angela Bowles and Toni Wilson from HM Revenue and Customs outlined the advantages and method of using the online system for paying tax and also about the free online payrol system for smaller businesses.
The morning finished with a lively Q&A. The presenters were joined by Peter Banks from datapartners and discussed issues such as eBay trading, payment providers and affiliate marketing.
Many thanks to the presenters who donate their time to create informative generic presentations to deliver to the eBusiness Club. The club is dependent upon their expertise and involvement.
Colin Kirby from Offsite Creative offered a £50 off print purchase which is still to be claimed! Colin had a small display of his banners and printed materials at the event and will be kindly donating a banner to the eBusiness club.
